I gave up Warhammer 40,000 about 10-11 years ago. I had taken my first steps into the world of Games Workshop in the early 90s, first through Amiga computer games such as Space Crusade and Space Hulk. I found my first GW store in Paris 1994, went in, and got back out with a copy of the first edition Space Hulk board game and its Deathwing expansion. Space Hulk led to 40K 2nd edition. I played my last 40K game the summer of 1999.
The last until now. Well frankly, the last until 6 months ago when my brother-in-law and I picked up the hobby again - for me greatly fuelled by Teardown's excellent Space Hulk remake (now rebranded Alien Assault).
And just like I remember it from the 90s, 40K is a black hole sucking your bank accout dry - yet you love every minute of it.
